The traditional Deauville American Film Festival opens on Friday, despite the historic strike that has paralysed Hollywood and deprived the event of stars such as Natalie Portman. The 49th Deauville Film Festival will run until 10 September, with 80 films being screened. The jury is chaired by French actor and director Guillaume Canet.
